Graduates may find employment in a variety of governmental and non-governmental agencies dealing with childcare services or human service-oriented professions. Those who pursue graduate studies may find work in the areas of research, administration, and university teaching.

Applied Child Development: This course focuses on the application of theory and research in child development.  The course discusses the implications of theory and research for the practitioner, parent and professional working with young children

Speech and Language Disorders in Children is a third-year course designed to introduce students to the field of communication disorders in children. Topics include the identification of different types of communication disorders, procedures in the evaluation and treatment of these disorders, and practical experience in clinical report writing and record keeping.

Topics in Leadership in ECCE provides an opportunity for students to understand and integrate theory and practice as they relate to management, leadership, advocacy, and inclusion of children with diverse needs.

The Child, Family, and Social Policy is a course designed to sensitize students to the social policy and legal dimensions of child development. It addresses the current political climate surrounding the adequacy of child care, as well as selected issues concerning the law and the rights of children.
